Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz inaugurated on Thursday international automotive and petroleum fairs in Istanbul.

The International Trade Fair of Petroleum, LPG, Lubricants, Equipment and Technology (Petroleum 2011) and the International Trade Fair for Automotive Manufacturing, Distribution and Repair (Automechanika), have opened at the TUYAP Fair and Congress Center and they will stay open till April 10.

A biannual fair, the Petroleum Istanbul was the host for 32,514 visitors from 102 countries. 171 firms joined the previous fair.

Automechanika Istanbul is Eurasia's number one OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and Aftermarket event. It brings together all relevant professionals from the Automotive Manufacturing, Distribution and Repair sectors in the region and it provides opportunities for Small and Middle Enterprises to step up in the market.

Around 1,099 companies from 38 countries join the Automechanika Istanbul, which is also a biannual fair. More than 30,000 professionals are expected to visit the fairs.
