Baku-Sumgayit railway will be launched on June 5, according to chairman of Azerbaijan Railways Javid Gurbanov.

“Construction work is underway now. Nearly 110,000 vehicles and 200,000 people use the road every day. A large number of pupils go from Sumgayit to Baku, and many people from Baku head to Sumgayit on a daily basis.”

“The trains that will go on this route will have new carriages, and they will be supplied with air conditioning system and Internet.”

The construction of the 63km long railway started on March 3.
