Azerbaijan made its cultural treasures more available for low-income segments of the population.

The ancient Land of Fire – Azerbaijan – is a country that can astonish anyone, both local and foreign, with its cultural beauties. Moreover, when visiting the numerous cultural sites in the country, locals prefer to go to places with budget entrance fees. Over 140 museums are functioning in the country.

The country approved new rules for visiting cultural sites for low-income segments of society, veterans, physically challenged people, and children with disabilities under the age of 18, the Cabinet of Ministers reported on August 28.

The preferential visits to state and municipally-owned cultural properties, as well as privately owned museums and attractions under the protection of cultural institutions, includes free admission for non-commercial purposes.

Moreover, there is no need for consent in preferential visits from the Culture and Tourism Ministry and the Office of the State Historical-Architectural Reserve “Icherisheher”.

For preferential visits to such cultural sites, the said persons should apply to the overseeing cultural institution under the state and municipality itself or the head of the institution if the sites are privately owned.
