Residents of the Azerbaijani capital of Baku are bringing flowers to the Seaside Boulevard to honor the oil workers, who went missing after a fire on an offshore platform of the Gunashli field.

Since the morning people have been laying flowers at the pier or throwing them into the sea.

A fire broke out on an offshore platform of SOCAR’s Gunashli field Dec. 4, after an underwater high-pressure gas pipeline was damaged in strong storm.

As many as 33 people were rescued in a large-scale operation, while body of one oil worker was recovered.

Some 29 oil workers are listed as missing.
