In 2024, a group of young researchers who distinguished themselves in archaeological field studies and the public life of the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (AMEA) were awarded. Azernews reports noted that the institute emphasized that one of the main priorities of the institute's leadership is to attract young people to the field of archaeology and anthropology in Azerbaijan. This involves ensuring their participation in field studies to increase scientific knowledge and experience, as well as creating conditions for their active involvement in the institute's public life. The proper recognition and rewarding of young people's active participation in scientific research and public life are seen as key incentives. The institute's director, Associate Professor Farhad Guliyev, noted that this year, some young employees have particularly excelled in field studies, showing great activity in scientific expeditions operating in the liberated territories of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur. They have actively participated in international archaeological excavations carried out in many regions of the country, including the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Expressing confidence in the increasing active participation of young people in the institute's scientific research and public life in the coming years, F. Guliyev affirmed his belief and ongoing support for them. During the event, it was mentioned that, based on the results of the year, in addition to letters of appreciation, cash prizes were also awarded to young people who distinguished themselves in the field of scientific research and public activity, funded by the institute's extra-budgetary resources. The institute's leadership intends to continue rewarding outstanding young employees in the coming years, using the institution's resources. It also plans to finance their participation in international scientific conferences and advanced training programs abroad. At the end of the event, letters of appreciation were presented to the institute's employees who had distinguished themselves in archaeological field research and active public life throughout 2024.
