Azerbaijani women field hockey club Atasport will attend the 32nd European Winners' Cup to be held in German capital, Berlin, June 2-5.
The Azerbaijani team, which is drawn in group B, will play its first match against Belorussian Ritm on June 2. June 3 and 4, Atasport will clash with Scotland's Bonagrass and England's Canterbury respectively. German's Berliner, Spanish Terrassa, and Ireland's Pegasus are drawn in Group A. The top team from each group will progress to the next round to compete for gold medal, with the runners-up of the two groups competing for bronze. The bottom two teams from each group will leave the competition making way for two national teams who took first and second spots in the Champions Trophy tournament. The Netherlands' Hertogenbosch is the most successful European Winners' Cups team, having won the tournament 27 times. Last year Atasport became silver medallists failing to take the opportunity of winning the final match against the Dutch club, AzerTAg reports.
