The 37th session of The Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women begins today in UN headquarters in New-York.

The reports on fulfilling the requirements of the Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women of 15 countries, including Azerbaijan will be heard in the session.

The 2nd and 3rd periodic report of the Azerbaijani government will be heard on January 23.

State Committee on Family, Women and Children's Issues told the APA that the delegation led by the Committee chief Hijran Huseynova will participate in the session.

The delegation is composed of the representatives of governmental and nongovernmental organizations.

Huseynova is expected to meet with the leadership of UN Population Fund and the heads of a number of delegations. APA
