As APA informs, Ilham Aliyev left for Gazakh region.

After visiting Heydar Aliyev's monument in the centre of the region Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of Gazakh Olympic Sport Complex. President was told that the building works for monument started in 2004. Olympic Sport Complex allows 1010 people to watch the games. The head of Executive Power of Gazakh region Rauf Huseynov addressing the meeting said 3990 new job places were opened in the recent years in the region. President Ilham Aliyev hoped for effective use of complex. He said it is the 11th Olympic Sport Complex built recently in the republic.

"We intend to bring this figure to 20.Because the investment for sport benefits the health of Azerbaijan youth."

President said Europe championship on rhythmic gymnastics, world championship on wrestling and other international sport games will be held in Azerbaijan soon.

Ilham Aliyev said Gazakh people demonstrated heroism in Karabakh war.

"Gazakh is the border area and it has many martyrs. We must be ready to liberate our lands. So our aim is to establish economically strong independent country."

Later president participated in the opening ceremony of Cement plant and Bentonite Plant. He was informed the Bentonite Plant will produce 75 thousand ton cement in 2007 and 300 thousand ton the next year. 7.9 million dollar was invested in the plant provided with the latest equipments.

At the end president concerned himself with the Medical Diagnostic centre.
