A revasculation surgery, available only in specialized clinics of the United States and Europe, has been performed on heart in the department of cardiovascular surgery of the Central Clinics for Oilmen, for the first time in the CIS states.
According to the State Oil Company, the surgery has been performed by surgeon Rashad Makhmudov by help of the laser revasculation device.
Such surgeries are performed on patients for whom the aorto-coronary bridging is impossible and who suffer from severe pains.
It should be noted that over 1,000 surgeries have been performed since the opening of the cardiovascular surgery department in 2005.
