March 20-26 are declared non-working in Azerbaijan due to celebration of Novruz holiday-the holiday of spring.
Novosti-Azerbaijan reports with reference to the spokesman for Azerbaijan's Cabinet of Ministers Akif Ali that in line with the order of Azerbaijani government of December 7, 2007 "On days-off, Novruz, Ramadan, Gurban holidays and holidays in 2008" March 20-26 is considered non-working in Azerbaijan.
"In line with the order, under article 105 of the Labor Code of the Azerbaijan Republic, Novruz Holiday is marked 5 days-from March 20 until 24. Under the legislation these days are considered non-working. However, as March 22 and 23 fall on Saturday and Sunday and to ensure the priority of work days, March 25 and 26 are also declared non-working", the spokesman noted.
As March 8-the International Women's Day-also falls on Saturday, the regulation also declares March 10 as a non-working day.
