Officials of Ettelaat special services arrested activists of movement for rights of South Azerbaijanis in Tebriz, Iran, according to Sadigh Isabeyli, chairman of the center of research and information of the South Azerbaijan Independence Party.
Isabeyli noted that among the detained are Abdul Mejid Tanriverdi, Khojat Velipur, Nadir Muhamedpur, Iraj Hasni, Huseyn Mirzakhani, Kamal Ashraf, Hasan Huseynzade.
"The aforementioned people were accused of initiating actions on the anniversary of bloody May events of 2006. The law enforcement bodies of Iran detain our activists to prevent the actions", noted Isabeyli.
He said the number of the detained reach tens of people in Tebriz.
"We have not clarified the names of the remaining activists, as they are kept in the unknown place", Isabeyli concluded.
