Azerbaijan has been invited for participation in one of the biggest film festivals-the Cairo festival, reports Day.Az with reference to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The Cairo international festival is a class A festival and to participate in it is a great progress. It will be the 32nd Cairo festival.
Officials of the film department said Samir Kerimov's film "Butterfly wings" has been sent for consideration to the steering committee of the festival. It will become clear in autumn whether the Azerbaijani film will add to the contest program.
It should be reminded that Eldar Guliyev's film "The Hostage" was presented in the framework of the off-contest demonstration at the Cairo film festival two years ago.
