President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of a new corps of the Baku State University, reports Day.Az with reference to AzerTac.
A photo exhibition, reflecting the care and attention, paid by national leader Heydar Aliyev to education, has been created on the background of the building.
Though the construction of the new corps started in 1991 and works were further suspended, in line with the decree of President Ilham Aliyev AZN 600,000 was allocated for the corps construction in 2006, AZN 2,500,000 in 2005 and AZN 4,600,000 in 2008.
The total area of the new corps is 15,000 square meters. The building is equipped with due facilities, it is of 10 floors with over 300 rooms, including 200 lecture halls. The building is intended for over 4,000 students.
The head of state familiarized with the lecture halls of the faculties of history, applied math, cybernetics, computer center, act hall, polyclinics, canteen and so on.
President Aliyev spoke of the state care, paid to education in Azerbaijan. The head of state noted that the volume of funds, allocated for this sphere, is growing each year.
