Culture Ministers of the member-states of the Organization of Islamic conference declared Baku the capital of Islamic Culture in 2009.
Day.Az reports with reference to the press service for the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism that the due initiative was proposed by Minister Abulfaz Qarayev, attending the 5th conference of the Ministers of culture, in the capital of Lebanon Tripoli in November of 2007.
It was decided to hold the fourth conference of the Culture Ministers of the OIC member-states in the capital of Azerbaijan.
