Representatives of the election assessment mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, visiting Baku, met with Azerbaijani human rights activists, said human rights activist Saida Gojamanly.

She noted that the PACE assessment mission was represented by head of this mission Andres Herkel and several representatives. The meeting was also attended by human rights activists Arzu Abdullayeva, Novella Jafaroghlu and Saadat Bananyarli.

Gojamanly noted that during the meeting the sides discussed the situation before the presidential elections in Azerbaijan, freedom of speech and assembly, results of the pardon decree, signed by the president.

"We also touched upon the issue of imprisoned journalists Eynulla Fatullayev, Ganimat Zahid and Mirza Sakit", said the human rights activist.
