A document "Baku youth initiative" was adopted by results of a conference discussing role of youth in prevention of religious discrimination.

According to Novosti-Azerbaijan, the international conference "Islamophobia and other forms of xenophobia: influence on youth and youth role in their prevention" was held in Baku on November 5-8 under the auspices of the CE directorate of youth and sport, ISESCO, Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan and OIC youth forum "For dialogue and cooperation".

The conference participants discussed methods of work with youth against demonstration of Islamophobia, antisemitism and other forms of xenophobia, defined role of youth in elimination of Islamophobia, antisemitism, religious differences and so on.

According to head of the EU directorate on youth and sport Ralf-Rene Weingertner, the adopted document reflects issues of elimination of religious discrimination, youth initiative in elimination of any forms of religious phobias.

"The youth organizations are bound to cooperate in this sphere and the conference organizers will support them in the implementation of the Baku initiative", noted he.

He also added that the document reflected definite projects and measures to be executed in 2009.

In turn, Azerbaijan Youth and Sport Minister Azad Rehimov considers that the "Baku youth initiative" is a basic document and it will work in favor of youth and dialogue between them.
