Imprisoned editor-in-chief of Gundelik Azerbaijan newspaper filed a claim against Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mamedyarov, said Isakhan Ashurov, reports Day.Az with reference to the Institute of Reporters Freedom and Safety.
Thus, the reason for appeal to the court is that Minister Elmar Mamedyarod did not respond to the information request, sent by him.
According to Ashurov, the preliminary court hearing was held in the Yasamal district court on November 7.
"The court hearing on the case of journalist Eynulla Fatullayev is scheduled for January 20", noted the defender.
It should be noted that a criminal case against editor-in-chief of Gundelik Azerbaijan newspaper Eynulla Fatullayev was instituted on the basis of appeal of Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov sent to National Security Ministry.
Mamedyarov's appeal says that after publication of an article "The Aliyevs go on war", foreigners, residing in Azerbaijan, as well as entrepreneurs voiced concern about this issue.
In this connection, Fatullayev sent an appeal to Mamedyarov with a request to present him a list of persons, who voiced their concerns, but the request was not responded.
