The Azerbaijani Council of Press has sent an appeal to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, report sources from the Council of Press.
The appeal thanks President Ilham Aliyev for allowing editor-in-chief of Azadlyg newspaper Ganimat Zahid and newspaper correspondent Mirza Sakit to attend their father's funeral.
"The temporary release of Zahidovs brothers for their participation in their father's funeral is a sign of nobility", says the appeal.
The letter also voices hope that the issue of pardoning brothers Ganimat and Sakit Zahidovs will be considered.
