Chairman of Adalyat party Ilyas Ismaylov has filed a claim against head consultant of the Nota Bene newspaper Faramaz Novruzoghlu, reports Day.Az with reference to the Institute for Reporter Freedom and Safety.
According to Novruzoghlu, the cause of the claim was the article, published in 24 saat newspaper under the title "Russia has crossed out Ilyas Ismaylov (the material accuses Ismaylov of cooperation with separatists and operating by Russia's order).
Novruzoghlu claims he has not written such an article to the 24 saat newspaper and there are no evidences of it.
"When I present my materials to any newspaper, I undersign them. High ranking official of the law enforcement bodies Gilal Asadov is behind this all", noted Novruzoghlu.
The claim was filed to the Binagadi district court and taken for consideration by judge Maarifa Kazimova. The court hearing is scheduled for today.
Notably on December 28 of 2007 the President of Azerbaijan issued a decree to pardon consultant of Nota Bene newspaper Faramaz Novruzoghlu.
