The department of monitoring of TV channels under the National Television and Radio Council has already recorded violations, connected with the use of a foreign language on air by some Azerbaijani TV channels during holidays, said chairman of the National Television and Radio Council Nushirevan Meherremli.
He noted that the monitoring of the use of foreign languages by Azerbaijani TV channels will continue these days and the National Council will hold a special session on this issue.
"The TV channels that violate rules of the use of foreign languages will be made a strict warning. It is currently possible to watch feature and animation films in Turkish on the local TV channels and this is inadmissible.
On the whole, we have set a task to strengthen the Azerbaijani state language on the TV channels. The position of the national council in this issue will be tough.
We can also pay attention to the use of separate dialects of the Azerbaijani regions, including Anatolian dialect by the TV channels", said he.
