A two day seminar organized by the OSCE Baku office for Azerbaijani and Turkish frontier men and customs officials kicked off, according to the press service for the OSCE Baku office.
The seminar is held in the Azerbaijani-Turkish frontier checkpoint Sadarak-Diluju. The aim of the event is to raise the professional skills of the event participant for the provision of free, lawful and safe movement of people and different cargoes along the border.
"This seminar is a good opportunity for raising trust between the due state structures of Azerbaijan and Turkey. I hope that such measures will raise professional skills of the officers of customs, frontier and police services, working on both sides of the border", said acting head of the OSCE Baku office Alexis Shahtakhtinski.
During the seminar officers of the Azerbaijani and Turkish frontier and customs services will be informed of details of the technique of questioning citizens, skills of combating human trafficking, support of interborder trade as well as revealing drugs and falsified documents.
The OSCE Baku office organized this seminar in cooperation with the Foreign ministry of Azerbaijan and Turkish consulate general in Nakhchivan. This is the first seminar held on the Azerbaijani-Turkish border. Through the past two years OSCE has organized four similar seminars on the Azerbaijani-Georgian frontier checkpoints.
