Islamic civilization promotes peace and tolerance, humanism and good deeds. Islam rejects all crimes including terrorism, extremism and violence. Such actions pose a threat for public and political stability of states and security of civilians, said the letter by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev addressed to conference of the heads of the law enforcement agencies of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) which is underway in Baku on April 21.
The conference of the heads of the law enforcement agencies of the Organization of the Islamic Conference began in Baku on April 21-22.
The conference aims to identify main directions of mutual cooperation among the OIC member states.
Transnational organized crime, international terrorism, extremism, aggressive separatism, trafficking of arms, narcotics, psychotropic drugs and their substitutes, human trafficking, illegal migration, legalization of funds and property obtained through crime, financing of terrorism and cooperation on combating corruption stand on the OIC conference's agenda.
The conference also aims to develop major cooperation directions in a new format within the OIC. Senior delegations of the OIC member states and representatives of international organizations are attending the conference. The conference of the heads of the law enforcement agencies of the Organization of the Islamic Conference is expected to end with Baku Declaration.
The congratulation letter by President said terrorism, separatism, arms and narcotics trafficking and human trafficking poses a threat for the peaceful co-existence of states.
"Therefore the states need to cooperate in all fields," the letter said.
President said international transnational crime, human trafficking and drug trafficking and other crimes have become wide-spread in Azerbaijan's occupied lands. "It is a source of danger not only for Azerbaijan, but also all regional states," the letter said.
