The Nasimi district court is considering the complaint of the Chairman of the Azeri-Turk women's association Tanzila Rustamkhanly and Karabakh war veteran Sabira Mahmudova against the founder of the Ideal newspaper Nazim Guliyev, reports Day.Az with reference to the Reporters Freedom and Safety Institute.

The complaint refers to publication of materials aimed at insulting the honor and dignity of Tanzila Rustamhanly and Sabira Mahmudova. The court is held under the chairmanship of Judge Elman Ahmadov.

Plaintiffs demand to find N. Guliyev guilty under articles 147.2 (defamation, a person connected with the prosecution of grave or especially grave crimes) and 148 (insult) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. The trial continues on 14 May.

Notably, the Ideal newspaper is on the list of racketeering newspapers.
