Today.Az » Society » Day.Az calls on all the compatriots living abroad to advocate and vote for the representatives of Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2009 song contest
14 May 2009 [11:12] - Today.Az
We urge you to vote for your country, and agitate others to vote for the Aysel-Arash duo, representing Azerbaijan at this year's Eurovision.

Few doubts that the Aysel and Arash due to represent our country in Eurovision will do it worthily. Successful performance for them is predicted both by the present and the past participants of the contest.

As you know, after the presentation of all the contestants on the Eurovision 2009, there starts a disturbing minute for both the contestants and the audience. The residents of each country can vote for any other country in the last finals, except for their own representatives.

Azerbaijan hasĀ  a great hope and believes in the victory of Aysel and Arash. In addition, many also realize that this victory could be reached mostly thanks to our compatriots living in various European countries and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Therefore Day.Az encourages all its readers who live in Western Europe, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Turkey and other European countries to send SMS-messages for Aysel Teymurzade and Arash (on a number, that will be announced during the live broadcast. For each country the number different).

In addition, we urge all our fellow compatriots to advocate for the artists from Azerbaijan in the country where they live. Spare no time and effort, lead campaign for our singers among your Western friends, encourage them to vote for Azerbaijan. Advocate our performers in various international forums. In calling for voting for Aysel and Arash, try to cover the highest possible number of foreigners.

We have no doubt that if each of our fellow countrymen follows our request and voted and encourage others to give their votes for Aysel and Arash, our country will take its place in the Eurovision 2009 contest, and, quite possibly, the next contest will be held in Baku.
