Azerbaijan Republic Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies will organize a festive venue dedicated to the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day.

The Ministry informed that the upcoming event will involve representatives of the government sector, NGOs, presidents and leaders of private companies running their business in the field of information and telecommunication technologies (ICT).

“The World Telecommunication and Information Society Day is aimed at assisting in increasing the level of awareness of possibilities that can be brought into societies and countries by internet and ICT as well as the ways of going through a “digital break”,” it was informed.

The 17th of May, the day of creation of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), was declared the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day in 2006 by UN General Assembly. This is a professional holiday of all the programmers, systems administrators, web providers, web designers and all other people engaged in information technologies.
