8 Azerbaijanis, crew members of the Mira vessel, arrested in India's territorial waters for five months, returned home.

The sailors' relatives met them at the international airport.

Notably, a crew of 24 people (including Azerbaijanis) of the Turkish Mira dry cargo ship, arrested in the territorial waters of India five months ago, was illegally kept hostage. Crew members were not provided with food though provision was exhausted.

The ship was arrested due to the bank debt to British Culbone Marine Finance. After negotiations with official Baku, the Indian government decided to release the crew members. After Mumbai the vessel directed to Istanbul.

The seamen who had no money or tickets were taken under protection of Mubariz Mansimov, head of the Palmali group of companies and Azerbaijani entrepreneur.

Now the crew members intend to file suit to the Court of Turkey, as well as Court of Human Rights in relation to the material damage caused to them. The defender has already launched due preparatory works.
