2,348,225 square meters of Azerbaijani lands were cleared of mines and unexploded shells in May of 2009.
ANAMA press service reported that the operations involved 425 people, 5 mine clearing vehicles and about 30 dogs.
20601 unexploded shells and mines were cleared in Azerbaijan in May of this year.
On the whole, 102,880,063 square meters of land have been cleared and 446,528 mines and unexploded shells were neutralized.
ANAMA holds search operations in Terter, Aghdam, Fizuli, Tovuz, Agjabedi, Samukh and Aghstafa regions of Azerbaijan.
