Famous Brazilian conductor Silvio Barbato, who took part in the opening of the International Mugham Festival in Baku on March 19 of this year, was on board of the Airbus A330 belonging to Air France, which crashed on June 1, said director of the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Murad Adigezalzade.
"Mr.Barbato conducted the Azerbaijani state symphonic orchestra during performance of three symphonic mughams of Fikret Amirov including "Kurd Ofshary", "Shur" and "Gulustan Bayati-Shiraz". He was a real professional and a very sincere man and thus he will remain in our hearts", said Adigezalzade,
Notably, Silvio Barbato died at the age of 50.
