Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers has approved regulations on granting permission for temporary stay to foreign citizens and people without citizenship.
"According to the Cabinet of Ministers’ decision, foreigners and persons without citizenship may obtain a temporary permit to stay in Azerbaijan in the case they invest at least 300,000 manat in country’s economy. In addition, to obtain a permit, this category of persons must have funds in Azerbaijani banks worth at least 15,000 manats,” a source said.
The Cabinet also approved the Rules of Granting Permission for Temporary Stay to Foreign Citizens and Persons Without Citizenship in the Azerbaijan,
According to regulations, this permit is issued by the State Migration Service.
Under regulations, conditions for a temporary permit is valid for one year and may be renewed no more than four times (each time for one year). Thus, if foreigners and persons without citizenship who want to renew the permit, they should contact the State Migration Service 22 working days prior to the expiration of the permit.
In turn, the Migration Service will consider the appeal within 20 working days, taking into account the opinion of the Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of National Security must give its opinion within 10 working days after Migration Service receives the request.
