Azerbaijani Ministry of Youth and Sports welcomes activities of Azerbaijani youth abroad.

"Azerbaijani youth studying abroad has become more active recently. We are glad of this fact. Cooperation of Azerbaijani youth organizations abroad and implementation of joint projects positively impact on their development and forms positive opinion about Azerbaijan in the world," ministry's spokesperson Samaya Mammadova said.

"The Ministry cooperates with the Azerbaijani youth organizations operating in the CIS and European countries. The ministry expects much from the Azerbaijani youth organizations abroad. They must convey Azerbaijani realities to the world community more effectively and participate in public life of countries they live. But the most important thing is to get high quality education and become professionals in their business," she said.

Azerbaijani youth has intensified activity in public life too, Mammadova said. "They are key partners in terms of realization of state youth policy. Young people also participate in formation of civil society. Co-operation of the ministry with youth organizations and attention of the state ensure full development of young generation," she said.

She said youth organizations differ from other NGOs with interesting and long projects. "Azerbaijani youth consists of modern and conscious young people striving for development. It is testified by the new staff in our projects, and young generation of specialists are successfully involved with many organizations", Mammadova said.

Azerbaijan marks International Youth Day on August 12. Young people (aged 14 to 20) make up 60 percent of Azerbaijan's population. There are 180 children's and youth organizations in Azerbaijan.
