Heydar Aliyev Foundation, together with the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), is implementing next stage of the project aimed to promote use of IT by disabled people.
The regional information center is planned to be built in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic at a new stage, the foundation said.
Disabled people living in seven districts of the autonomous republic will use services of the center.
Local network of 20 computers for people with handicapped eye sight will be installed in the center. The center will be provided with high-speed Internet. Braille display and special printers will be installed.
A similar center is being built in Ganja for more than 60,000 disabled people of Ganja, Naftalan, as well as Agstafa, Dashkasan, Gazakh and other regions.
The first project was implemented jointly with the UNDP in 2005-2006. A similar center for children with eye diseases was established as part of the project.
Heydar Aliyev Foundation was established in 2004. The foundation implements projects in the sphere of culture, education and health.
