The flagship of the Caspian Fleet of the Russian Federation including missile ship "Tatarstan" and the hydrographic vessel "Anatoly Guzhvin" are going to pay an unofficial visit to the Baku port.
Fleet ships are being prepared to enter central and southern part of the Caspian Sea to carry out the tasks of active service.
The rocket ship 'Tatarstan' and hydrographic vessel "Anatoly Guzhvin" are expected to make a business entry to the Baku port as a part of the sea expedition, a source close to the Caspian Fleet's staff told ITAR-TASS.
Small artillery ship of the Caspian Fleet "Astrakhan" is scheduled to enter the Turkmen port of Turkmenbashi in June. However, it failed due to reasons beyond the fleet.
Before, Russian ships' visit to Baku was also postponed. Before, warships of the Caspian Fleet have had a task to enter Baku in July 2009. The commander of the Caspian Flotilla of the Russian Federation Vice-Admiral, Viktor Kravchuk, and his deputy, Rear Admiral, Vladimir Vdovenko, are likely to head the trip.
Azerbaijani navy includes brigade of surface ships composed of battalions of ships protecting water area, small landing ships, basic and raid trawlers, rescue and training ships.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense has not either confirmed or denied the news yet.
