As many as 27 rescuers and CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) experts of Azerbaijan Ministry of Emergency Situations will attend NATO ZHETYSU 2009 exercise organized by the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Center (EADRCC) in co-operation with Kazakhstan on Sept. 5 to 11, in Almati.
The event will be attended by 26 member states and NATO allies, as well as relevant UN entities and related structures of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. In total, the event will be attended by more than 1,500 participants and observers.
The exercises aim to exchange experience on organizing assistance of international and national rescue services following an emergency situation in Kazakhstan and on conducting rescue operations following natural disasters.
