Azerbaijani sportsman Ramil Guliyev is among 40 candidates for the best athlete of the European Association of Athletics in 2009.
Azerbaijani Sprinter Ramil Guliyev 19 ranked seventh in the world championships in Berlin in 2009, becoming the best representative of Europe in this tournament.
One can vote for "Best Athlete of Europe" by Sept. 27. Winners will be announced and awarded at the meeting of the European Association of Athletics in Budapest on Oct. 17.
In 2008, Russian Elena Isinbayeva and Norwegian Olympic Champion in Javelin, Andreas Torklidsen won this rank.
