Azerbaijani wrestlers won two more medals - Zelimkhan Huseynov (60 kg) took silver, and Sharif Sharif ov (84 kg) - bronze.

Sharifov was able to defeat an opponent from Russia, which earned him a bronze medal. Sharif's opponent in a decisive battle was Abdusalam Gadisov. Before Sharifov defeated Belarusian Alexey Isaev, lost to American Jacob Herbert.

In 1 / 8 finals of the World Championship Azerbaijani wrestler Zelimkhan Huseynov (60 kg) met Armenian rival. Huseynov began the tournament at 1 / 16 finals, winning Tajik Vitaly Koryakin.
In a duel with a rival Armenian Artur Arakelyan Huseynov won 3-0, 1-0. Then in the ¼ finals Huseynov met with the Japanese Shogo Maeda.
Huseynov defeated him (7-4, 4-1) and reached the semifinal of the World Championship. İn the semifinal Azerbaijani sportsman defeated Uzbek Dilshad Mansurov (1-0, 6-2). He will meet now the Russian Besik Kudukhov in the final. It will be the second Azerbaijan-Russia final at current championship.
World Wrestling Championship began on 21 September in the Danish Herning. One of Azerbaijani wrestlers Hetag Gazyumov (96 kg) has already won a silver medal. Two another Azeri wrestlers could reach the ¼ finals, but were unable to advance further, losing to their rivals.
