Heavy rains that began on Sept. 19 poured  non-stop for three days in the U.S. states of Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee. Rains have caused damage worth nearly $250 million. Streets, houses and bridges are flooded.  

Georgia Governor Sony Perdue recently announced a state of emergency. An aid has been dispatched to the states that have suffered most of all. Below are disaster photos shot in the city of Atlanta, Georgia.
