Sabayel district court held the next hearing on the case of arrested bloggers Emin Milli and Adnan Hajizade.

The witnesses, owner of 'Lebanese' restaurant, Shahzeynab Rustamova and duty officer of Sabayel district police office sent letter saying that they will miss the hearing.

They confirmed the testimony given in the initial investigation.

Defendant Adnan Hajizade said the case is considered fairly.

“This is a trick. My activity was pursued. Some did not like the articles I posted on the Internet,” he said.

Adnan Hajizadeh said the witnesses’ testimonies are false.

“I have never committed violence against anybody,” he said.

Emil Milli did not agree to the accusation either. The defense petitioned for ensuring participation of sufferers in the next hearing.

The court granted the petition. The hearing will continue on Oct. 13.

Emin Milli and Adnan Hajizade were detained after the incident in 'Lebanese' restaurant in Azerbaijan’s capital on July 8.

They faced charges under articles 127.2.3 (inflicting bodily harm) and 221.2.1 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code.
