Azerbaijani State Customs Committee continues taking measures to combat smuggling.
The committee said the Central Department to Combating Law Violations in Customs has prevented smuggling of narcotics from Iran to Azerbaijan.
As a result, 19.860 kg opium smuggled by Iranian citizen Asad Karim Tavakkoli Kordlar and Azerbaijani Rafig Mahammad Babashov were found in 21 packages hidden in the dump in Mushfigabad settlement of Absheron region.
The investigation is underway to detain other members of the criminal group.
