World Health Organization (WHO) will send vaccines against A/H1N1 virus ('swine flu') to Azerbaijan in stages within five months, WHO program coordinator Elkhan Gasimov said.
He said the firs part of the vaccines will be sent in late November and early December. It will consist of 170,000 doses and cover about 1-2 percent of Azerbaijan’s population.
“The vaccines will be sent in the coming months. WHO plans to send vaccines that will be cover 8-10 percent of the Azerbaijani population,” he said.
Gasimov said WHO pays attention to the epidemiological situation and measures taken against 'swine flu' in Azerbaijan.
“The Health Ministry is taking adequate steps and working together with all other related bodies,” he added.
