Iranian investigators demanded $100,000 dollars in bail to free Azerbaijani scientist Rashid Aliyev who is under arrest in Iran,  Committee for Protection of Rashid Aliyev's Rights Chairman Soltanhamid Malikov said.

He said Aliyev phoned to his family on Wednesday and said that the investigators agreed to set him free on bail for $100, 000.

Iran’s Sazan Electronics Industry Company, which Aliyev was working for, agreed to pay bail.

Rashid Aliyev, senior engineer at the lab of Physical Problems Institute of Baku State University worked in Sazan Electronics Industry Company in 2006-2008 at the invitation of the company.

Aliyev last returned to Iran on Oct. 5. He was arrested because of alleged visa problems on Oct. 6.
