23 December 2009 [11:42] - Today.Az
The World Health Organization (WHO) has started distributing free vaccines against influenza virus A/H1N1.

WHO spokesman Gregory Hartl said at a briefing in Geneva that Azerbaijan and Mongolia will receive the first vaccines. It will enable to immunize 2 percent of population of each country.

He explained that Afghanistan was earlier in the list of the first recipients of the vaccine. But order of delivery depends on WHO’s ability to deliver the vaccine to the country and on capacity of local authorities to ensure its distribution.

Delivery to Azerbaijan and Mongolia will begin next week.
