In accordance with an agreement signed between Culture Ministries of Azerbaijan and Turkey, Azerbaijani writer Elchin Efendiyev's novel “Mahmoud and Maryam” will be filmed.
Shootings will start in March.
Producer is famous Turkish film-maker Sevda Kayqisiz, music by Azeri composer Aygun Samadzade.
Starring are Azeri and Turkish prominent actors.
The key role (Gamer Banu) in the film is played by Malahat Abbasova, an Azeri actress living in Turkey.
The film which features the historical battle of Chaldiran is planned to be screened by the end of current year.
Reportedly, several Hollywood filmmakers have also been invited to join the staff.
