State flags have been lowered across Azerbaijan as the country marks the 20th anniversary of the Black January events when Soviet army invaded Baku killing and injuring hundreds of innocent and defenseless people.
The invasion of the Soviet military units resulted in the killing of 140 people, while 744 were wounded and 841 illegally arrested in Baku and other regions of the country.
The Red Army units demolished 200 houses and 80 vehicles, as well as a large number of public and private properties.
People in Azerbaijan never forget horrors of the Black January and express hatred for the executors of those murderous deeds.
