A meeting of NGO section took place as part of the First Azerbaijan-Russia Forum on humanitarian cooperation on Jan. 22.
Welcoming participants of the event, Novruz Mammadov, head of the Foreign Relations Department of Azerbaijan`s Presidential Administration, said the Forum would contribute to developing historic ties between the two nations.
Mammadov noted the event would further strengthen friendship and good neighboring relations of the countries.
He praised current level of Azerbaijan-Russia relationship in all areas, including political, economic, scientific, cultural and humanitarian.
Farit Mukhametshin, Director of the Federal Agency for Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation and Special Presidential Representative for Relations with the CIS, said the Forum would serve boosting bilateral ties.
Mukhametshin said “the forum creates possibilities for expanding cooperation between NGOs from both countries.”
The director of the CIS Federal Agency also hailed activities of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in his country.
