Commissioner for Human Rights of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova has today met with country coordinator for South Caucasus of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) Manoela Grozdanova.
Grozdanova said AIDs is rapidly spreading despite efforts of world community, and international organizations. She emphasized the need for HIV cooperation.
Ombudsman noted the number of HIV positive is on the rise in Azerbaijan. She briefed Grozdanova on the fight against AIDs in Azerbaijan and HIV/AIDS education projects.
Grozdanova hailed ombudsman`s AIDS and human rights awareness. According to her, UNAIDS provides assistance to protect the rights of HIV positive people.
