The identity of victims of the bloody massacre committed by Armenian nationalists in Guba region of Azerbaijan in 1918 will be established according to the order by the Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General.

A list of over 16,000 civilians brutally killed in the Guba region in a period from May 1 to 10, 1918 will be compiled at the first stage, Guba region Prosecutor Nazim Hajiyev said.  

The prosecutor's office has been working on this issue for several days.

According to the prosecutor, the relevant government bodies of the region have been instructed to assist in compiling the list.

Guba Prosecutor's Office could reveal valuable historical facts on the basis of certain archival documents with the assistance of relevant government agencies.

The prosecutor agreed to reveal only one of them: "Earlier we knew that 2,000 residents were killed in Guba. But now we have more compelling fact. We have accurate information that over 3,000 children have been killed in Guba alone. This is an established fact."

Hajiyev said a small part of the victims of Guba Genocide of 1918 has been identified.

The work to compile lists is underway.

According to him, the facts revealed and a list of victims of genocide committed by Armenians in 1918 will be exhibited as a visual historical exhibits in the monument which will be erected on the mass burial site found in Guba in 2007, a direct evidence of Armenian brutality.

Prosecutor's offices of northern Gusar, Khachmaz, Siyazan, Davachi and Khizi regions of the country that were subject to genocide have also received similar instructions.
