According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, the number of explosions in apartment buildings and private houses this year lowered compared with the 2009 same period.
The Ministry’s statistics says that over January-March 2009 number of blasts caused by gas leak in both residential and non-residential buildings diminished by 52%.
During the report period, the country registered 10 blasts versus 19 in the first quarter of 2009.
Death toll of the 1st quarter of 2010 following fires caused by gas blasts is 18 people versus 30 for 2009 relevant term.
