A prosecutor is seeking 75 years imprisonment for a group of men who allegedly swindled AZAL.

The group consists of Azerbaijani and Nigerian citizens. The prosecutor asked the Baku Heinous Crimes Courts to sentence Azerbaijani citizens Shamsaddin Abdurahmanov to 4.5 years imprisonment, Vagif Mirzazade to 12 years, Tahir Amirguliyev to seven years, Elyar Gojazade to 10 years, Nazim Hasanov to 4.5 years, Ahliman Mammadov to 10 years, Murad Mahmudov to four years, Ata Abdullayev to seven years, Saida Mammadova to seven years, and Nigerian citizen Mutiu Olov to nine years.

The criminals reportedly bought airline tickets online at AZAL website using the stolen credit cards of foreign citizens and sold the tickets via e-mail to their clients at lower prices.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the criminals caused damages worth 100,000 manat. A criminal case was filed over the fact in accordance with the Azerbaijani Criminal Code. The arrested are accused of Articles 271.2.1, 271.2.3 (Illegal Access to Electronic Information).
