An event to honor the memory of Azerbaijan's national leader Heydar Aliyev was held in Istanbul, Turkey.
Opening the event, member of the Political Council of the New Azerbaijan Party Sayyad Salahli spoke of the national leader's services to the Turkic world.
Other speakers in the event told of what the national leader did to strengthen relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
They said Heydar Aliyev paid special attention to boosting economic cooperation between the two countries.
The event also featured a concert of Azerbaijani and Turkish singers.
