Azerbaijani chefs have brought home a clutch of 11 medals, a Grand Prix and cup from an international contest in Greece.
In the individual event Azerbaijan took 1 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals, while the Grand Prix, another silver and cup came in the team event. Tahir Amiraslanov, chief of the Azerbaijan National Culinary Center, said: “Our team comprised 4 cooks who competed in 10 individual and one team event which also saw participation of teams from Russia, Ukraine, and Greece.”
According to Amiraslanov, the Azeri National Culinary Center won the World Association of Chefs Societies's license to launch a Golden Chef TV contest to select a cook who will represent Azerbaijan in the next world culinary championship.
